No more suspense

While I'm sure I'll take more (and better) photos, here's a couple of the wee man's new look hair-style.

After more than 24 hours since he came home I'm beginning to get used to it, even love it, but it marks a much bigger change than I imagined. He looks so much older! And I feel a little sad about it, too, because he lost a little uniqueness when he lost his hair... he looks like lots of other little boys now. I mean, he IS unique and still very beautiful to me, but you could see that cloud of golden curls coming down the street, you know what I mean? Oh well, I guess you can still see the bright red metal prosthetic leg a fair way down the street too...? LOL!

Gosh he does look different and older but still gorgeous as ever.

Did they save a few curls for you ...

Oh boy do I remember being almost in tears when my eldest got his first "big boy" haircut. His curls were gone :(

We actually let his hair grow back, but it just didn't seem to curl the same way, so this year when he turned 5 we cut it all off again.

He actually hated it, but can hardly remember having long hair now.

You're right, they do lose some uniqueness when those curls are gone, but its just one of the many steps we have to face in seeing our littlies grow up I guess.... being a mum is hard and nostalgic sometimes huh!! :)

P.S. - He's a gorgeous little man :)

You're right, prizetastic...it is part of the rite of passage for parents, watching our little ones lose those baby characteristics and evolve towards the people they will become...which doesn't make it any easier for us mums, does it?! lol

I managed not to cry about the loss of the curls, but I'm still a little wistful...

I dropped him at preschool this morning, the first day back after the school holidays, with his fresh new look. As I was leaving I looked back at the kids in the sand pit, and for the first time it was hard, from a distance, to distinguish my little man from the other boys there...
