There's all sorts of little ways that I'm helping the planet, and I'm always pleased when I discover another. This fantastic community/website, LocalCooling.com and the handy little computer application that comes with it, is well worth looking at and getting into, especially as computers become ubiquitous in every household.

yes, I'm running it on my computer, and it rapidly slips it into low-power modes when I leave it for a few minutes, then turns it off...much more efficient than the My Pictures screensaver which I admittedly love but know is a huge waste of energy and resources!?! I haven't followed up back at the site yet, to look at my energy savings or anything.
