Weekly Winners, Sunday Meme

...Truth be told, the real reason I went out and got prepaid dial-up internet access for our temporary digs (apart from a compulsion to drive myself insane) was because I couldn't miss another week of Sarcastic Mom(aka Lotus)'s Weekly Winners Sunday Meme. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, click on the Weekly Winners button below and check out some great pictures from around the blogging world.)

Not that I claim greatness for these pictures - just a few happy snaps of the wee man and the kitten, and a rather spectacular sunset-after-rainy-day...

And I'm cheating a little by including these two, since they were taken last week, but come on, they're sooo cute...

PS. Did you read the earlier post? Fergal/Stuart the kitten proved to be a "she", not a "he" (shows how preoccupied I was that week!), and has now been renamed Mahlia (a unanimous choice...).

I love them all - The wee man and his kitten is priceless, the others are awesome.
The last two my favourites - have you seen LOLcats and funny pictures.
If you like cats and think they have characters ... it rocks.
*sob * I want a kitten !

This is the first time I've come to your blog and I really love the look and feel of it. Peaceful and hopeful and good. Your photos are too. Thanks for sharing with us. Glad you included the kitty shots. I particularly like that soft focus in the second to last.

So good to see more pictures from you again!
Wee man is still ADORABLE... but he's getting a tiny bit of competition from that kitty! Eee!

And that sky? Freakin' amazing!

I love it when cats sleep upside-down because you can see the tips of two of their teeth and they look like fangs! Vamp-cat! :D

Hi all - thanks for stopping by and glad you liked the pictures! Yep, can't beat curls and kittens, can you? (looks like the wee man is going to make it through another summer without me cutting those curls off....I just can't do it!)

Picture No 3 was taken looking out the back, which for me is also the front....we're in a little bedsit under the back of a house, so that is what I saw when I stepped out to photograph that amazing orange sky. I loved the scene too, but am a little disappointed that the camera didn't adequately capture the incredible gold-infused light that was the prelude to the skies in the pictures that followed.

And thanks, Nancy - glad you've enjoyed the read, and hope you'll come back again some time...

Hi mountainmama: sorry I hadn't been back in a while. Your were on my thoughts but time flies so fast, I didn't realize it had been so long, and I hadn't participated in Weekly Winners for a while which would have been a reminder of your return. Anyway, enough with the excuses, valid or not.

I'm catching up with what life is bringing you and you seem to be doing very well. I'm happy for you! And not really surprised, I admit since you had been dropping heavy hints about your state of discontent. Good for you for taking things in your own hands! That's very inspiring. Isn't it ironic that you have time for yourself now that you're a single mom? You'd think that would have been the case when you had a partner... but I'm sure it's like that with a whole lot of women.

Your boy is as cute as ever but Dahlia is quite a stunner (and what a great name!) and I do have a weakness for kittens and baby animals of all kinds! All your photos here are gorgeous though, by the way.

Well, here's a belated welcome back. I wasn't sure you'd be able to come back at all, so glad you got things sorted like this!

Congrats!
